Rug Art and Supply is an on-line store for the rug hooking enthusiast owned by two life-long friends, Shelley Flannery and Barbara A. Hanson, who share a love of creativity, color, and
fiber arts of all sorts. Sisters in spirit, Rug Art and Supply with Threads of Comfort Designs, is
the realization of many "Wouldn’t it be great to have our own business?" conversations
held over the years.
We are especially proud of our designers.
Introducing Marijo Taylor of Eugene, Oregon. Marijo’s folk art designs are drenched with the spirit of the Pacific Northwest featuring wildlife, mountains and florals.
Judy Wise is a
multi-media artist who has brought her talents to designing for traditional rug hooking.

and images of Bunsea, an imaginary village by
the sea, straight from the creative minds of
Shelley Flannery
and Barbara A. Hanson.
The Rug
designs of Las Rancheritas bring
us great joy. Truly folk art, the designs created
by the women of Agustin Gonzales, Guanajuato,
Mexico reflect the life that surrounds them.
Chickens, churches and donkeys, a dove on a
blooming plant… these are daily images
in the lives of 20 women taught to rug hook
in 1999. The Rug Hook Project, Las Rancheritas,
is displayed at www.rughookproject.com.
Proceeds from the sales of Las Rancheritas designs
will go to the individual artists.

Rug makers
around the world are invited to unite
in support or Rug Aid Rug Rave, a day
devoted to supporting Rug Aid, a non-profit
formed by Heather Ritchie of Great Britain.
Participants
are encouraged to hook the Rug Aid design
pictured here, designed by Heather Ritchie.
She challenges rug hookers to hook blindfolded
for 30 minutes to simulate what the rug
hookers in the Gambia state homes for
the blind experience.
Sales of
the Rug Aid design will benefit Heather's
work in the Gambia.
